I moved to Italy and everything changed. I knew I could never eat as before again. I was amazed by the variety and the quality of foods, the stories behind every cookie, pasta and jar of honey. I wanted to become a part of that world, not only eating, but creating. So for four years I worked at a small biodynamic Tuscan winery to learn, feel, smell... And from there I set out to create The Scrumptious Pantry: food from family farms that embrace the traditional philosophies of farming and create culinary treasures that do not include any additives, fillers or preservatives -- only estate-grown ingredients, passion and the belief that food is nourishment for the body and soul. This blog is to share not only stories about these farmers and food artisans, but to create a forum to discuss sustainable food, family farming and small scale production.
